The Laparoscopic surgery workshop was conducted by SCOME ED laparoscopic coordinators. The workshop took place on the 29th of March from 16:30 – 18:30, it was divided into two sessions at different times, each an hour duration. Both sessions consisted of a theoretical and practical section. During the theoretical part of the workshop, we presented an 8-slide introductory presentation to give the students a better understanding of the process and, to get familiarized with the equipment used during the procedure, with a 2 min animated video on how the surgery is performed. In the practical part, the students were able to train and learn on the laparoscopic simulator with the help of a trainer at each station, to give them a real-life understanding of how the procedure is carried out. The total number of students that signed up was 30+, but the workshop was limited to 24 students.
